ROBERT
JAMES
Robert is one of our busiest artists, be it as his cabaret character working up and down the country in bars clubs, venues and stadia, or his much used voice for commercials and talking books or his talent for directing and choreographing stage shows.
Robert’s main love, still is just singing, from modern classic’s to light jazz, his warm low baritone voice sits perfectly in small intimate venue or concert halls and arena’s.

Robert trained as an actor, singer and dancer at Middlesex University before working successfully in musical theatre on many shows including ‘Evita’, ‘Me and My Girl’, ‘Something Funny Happened on the Way to the Forum’, ‘The Boyfriend’, ‘Buddy’, ‘Aspects of Love’ and ‘Billy’ in which he played the title role. He has also appeared in, choreographed and directed many plays and pantomimes. He has often played the principle boy and occasionally even the principle girl!!
Robert can now be found kicking up his heels on the cabaret circuit as his Drag persona ‘LADY JAMES’; a role which has taken him all over the country and indeed the world, working in Prague, Copenhagen and Sydney Australia.
Robert originally hails from Bournemouth where his Drag persona ‘Lady James’ was for four years, the resident hostess at Rubyz Cabaret Restaurant. Prior success and no little notoriety was enjoyed with his own London based production company ‘Drag ‘n’ Fly’ in which he played the lead role in such spoof shows as ‘The Frocky Horror Show’, ‘Oliver with a Twist’, ‘Kabaret’ and ‘Mary Pops In’ to name but a few.
Robert was delighted to play a leading role in both organizing and hosting the cabaret tent at the hugely successful Pride in Brighton and Hove Festival 2008 and is equally excited to be returning to the company of the alternative pantomime, having previously joined the team in 2006.
