PARTY DJ.

It surprises some people to find that Rupert Ellick; DJ, Light and Sound Designer, Club Promoter, Theatre Producer, Performer Manager, Host, Stage manager, Dave Lynn Cabaret Academy mentor, Brighton Scene stalwart, Local Radio personality and what he himself describes as general putter oner started as a performer himself.

He was a sweet little chorister! before singing in youth choirs on national tours, and then taking the leap into musical theatre. His passion for Musicals and Live performance led him to perform in and produce full musicals creating his own production company whilst still a teenager.

These days Rupert is much happier to take a back seat and perform from his booth, where he is always ready with a cheesy tune and a quick witted remark,

His experience in helping run running The Two Brewers, The Black Cap, West Central and Charles Street, being a member of Team Lola running the Golden Handbags, Phil Star Tribute and The Cabaret Tent at Brighton Pride for 5 years, and booking and dealing with all the top scene performers makes him a perfect addition to the cabaret scene.

His almost encyclopaedic mind when it comes to anything Musical Theatre helps too!

His performer side is now satisfied by his Radio Show (Rupert's Friday Fling RadioReverb.com Fridays 9-10pm) and making sure all the performers he works with are lit fabulously and sound their best.

His Fairylea and Curiosity Club Nights, Charles Street Sunday Cabaret and his work with the Dave Lynn Cabaret Academy, which not only includes utilising his light and sound expertise as an advisor for the students in microphone and stage technique but also as a guide to what has gone before (he has put on seen and personally critiqued every act worth seeing since 1990!) demonstrates his determination to keep Brighton at the forefront of live camp entertainment!
